About the 228:
USPS Label 228 became an iconic canvas in graffiti and sticker (“slap”) culture because it was free, adhesive, portable, and provided a ready-made space for artists to draw tags, characters, and artwork. Emerging prominently in the late 1990s and early 2000s, 228s helped graffiti writers spread their work quickly through cities worldwide, eventually becoming collectible street-art objects and even appearing in galleries and art projects.
